Tornado-damaged home on Biffle Road, Newbern, TN. This home was moved completely off it's foundation but remained together.
A deadly tornado struck Northern Dyer County on Sunday and most of the survivors in the affected areas were still trying to find some normalcy following the devastation that occurred Sunday night.
Electrical crews were still working long hours to get the power returned to areas north of Dyersburg and Newbern, TN including; Biffle Road and Sara Lee Foods, Enochs Road, Lanesferry Road, Cobb Road, the Meacham Community, Millsfield and Harness Road. For residents this will be a much welcomed relief considering the hardship that many have faced over the

DYERSBURG, TN - My visit to the Dyersburg Fire Department
this afternoon proved to be more exciting than I had anticipated.
I had gone there to speak with John Doyle, fire inspector, about some
information we needed on the fire department. We had just entered
his office when the alarm sounded. John asked if I wanted to
go. There was no way I would miss it. I served on the
Finley Fire Department for a number of years. It is something
that gets in your blood. I miss it. Jean was the first lady
firefighter with the Finley Fire Department. |

Jean and I recalled our first trip with her to this attraction. She was a little less than one year old. This year she is eleven. The three of us enjoyed it just as much this year as we did ten years ago. |
